People Actually Want Bots to Follow Them: How is this becoming a big threat to small businesses online?
The newest AI sensation is the app that turns bots into genuinely engaged audiences...
Whether you are a dedicated buyer from independent or local businesses or a small business owner, this concerns you on a very personal level. SocialAI is the newest addition to the list of nightmares any business creator has to face in the journey of boosting engagement.
What is this app all about? 🤨
SocialAI is born to fight the ‘loneliness epidemic’.
It helps dilute the pain-staking awareness of knowing that generated engagement is futile.
Essentially the vision behind this app is to increase the value of ‘real’ engagement without it costing much in terms of content.
Mark Zuckerberg has claimed that almost 80% of content management and publication on social media will involve AI if not entirely produced by it.
SocialAI is only available for iOS right now but developers are exploring ways to make it more versatile and easily usable.
Why is it a problem for small businesses? 🫥
Previously, and I mean even about seven-eight months ago, influencer marketing was a heavy driving factor in small businesses succeeding with more customers resulting from ‘quality engagement’. Apps like SocialAI pose some challenges -
blurring the line between good engagement and quality engagement
wasting unnecessary time on assessing who is a good fit to market your brand given that access to mass engagement is so easy
long-term factors influencing media-market value for your brand
finding quality collaboration instead of just ‘show and sell’
What should buyers and sellers focus on to make sure media-market is not threatening their safety and ethics? 🤔
👁️🗨️ compliance is key - a compliant buyer is someone who is not only conscious how much they spend and on what but also aware about the effect of social media ‘hype’ about buyer trends. On the other hand a compliant small business is dedicated to be compliant to their own customer retention policy, claims and above everything, taxes.
👁️🗨️ win-win wonderland - it is super hard to find brands who don’t offer year-long sales and discounts. Small businesses who are transparent about how a discount period or special sale is win-win for both buyer and seller builds trust and credibility. Mindlessly following trends or ‘marketing experts’ to launch sales that will cost your business both money and reputation is a no go. Consult your accountant or an accounting advisor who will help you out in strategically planning your sales.
👁️🗨️ Being alive - Hustling and being alive are different, if as a buyer or a seller you are more bent to hustle because trends say so it will bite you back sooner or later. Approach sustainable buying and selling patterns that boost your growth and help you be more alive as you grow in the media-market scene because you are being YOU!
Most importantly, it is essential for everyone in the small business and entrepreneurship world to recognise the wonders and potential of AI when it comes to long-term growth. Automation can champion so much more than just day-to-day engagement or the little bits of being human that no one can do better than us. AI is built to expand knowledge and help in the making of a very real, efficient world, not an artificial one. 😎
