9 million people suddenly entering the self-employed job market sounds like we are kidding you...

Hey Gigster 👋

The cost of living for Aussies is an all time high right now 📈 and we are sick of ‘budgeting’ being the only answer to this growing problem for over 9 million in the country!

Here are the key highlights of the inflation problem that both traditionally employed and self-employed individuals are facing -

  • over 42% of households across Australia are struggling to afford grocery and essential needs

  • although tax brackets have been subjectively lowered, it will not create a substantial impact until the completion of the following financial year

  • 1.5 million new households have emerged in just the last two years which means a further strain on resources and aid

  • 6.7 million working adults, despite being full-time or casual workers are facing financial insecurities

  • more than half of those working multiple jobs have already chosen more than two side hustles simultaneously

What does this mean for existing and seasoned sole traders and freelancers like you?

💣 A massive influx of new workforce is entering the market, hungry for opportunities.

💣 This is different from your previous seasonal competition around Christmas when everyone is just trying to earn a few extra dollars. People are struggling to make ends meet this time.

💣 A desperate necessity to lower prices and charges might arise due to so many available options in front of clients who would also want to cut costs.

💣Resources available for marketing your gigs, freelance services and/or products, shipping or logistics related resources for small business owners and sole traders and all other general resources for gig workers like electric bikes, cars or gears might be available at a hiked price too because companies make profit in dire situations.

Beyond all upcoming and on going challenges we have to be there for each other. Gig work, sole trader-ship and freelancing are heavily dependent on network and community. Let’s focus on changing the game instead of evening the scores 💪.

If you know someone who is just getting started with side hustles connect them with MyGigsters! We have enough room for all passionate gig workers across Australia.

Most importantly, there’s an entirely different side to this coin and we will dive deep into the good things that will happen once this storm is over. Stay tuned for our latest blogs…
